A California native, born in August, 1963.

Raised in Oakland, California, he attended special art magnet programs since elementary school, starting with Mosswood Arts, Renaissance Middle School and Concordia private High School. He graduated early at the age of 16 and directly pursued his art career with home study and college classes.

He married at 21, had a daughter, divorced and became a single parent, putting his art career on hold for ten years.

Sketch Book

PIPE_bq6_3_02.jpg - This isn't a random sketch, however this gives you an idea of the pencil stages that I go through when shaping up a Bomb Queen page. The truth is I don't sketch enough, which means often I hammer out my skills ON the printed page. Bad idea, I know... but over the years I've become confident in beating a page into submission. Doesn't always work, but I'm okay with experimenting. 12-01-2010

PIPE_CP_BQ_HEAD.jpg - Random art, production sketches and behind the scenes chatter. You might be surprised what gets used from this sloppy pile. I often sketch head shots, because I'm always working on the jaw angles. There's a certain amount of character that comes from the jaw outline. In the case of Bomb Queen she needs to show authority, almost in a masculine way so, despite all her sexual attributes I still lean in on her jaw. 12-01-2010

BQ_sketches.jpg - Example of BAD sketches. Sometimes I go through phases where I have to drawn dozens of bad pictures until I find my zone. I know showing bad art isn't a proper thing to do but often folks think everything that comes off my pencil is gold -- it's not! When I draw a page I pretty much have to beat it into submission, or like a sculptor I have to mold it from an ugly lump of clay. 12-01-2010

BQBlast.jpg - This sketch was done for a retailer (Blue Moon Comics), he wanted his store blown up by the Queen, so I gave it a blast. Hah! I'm often caught off guard when doing these on-the-spot sketches because my style is pretty rough and loose on my books. I usually pencil just enough to be a guide for my inks. So when you see me at a convention be nice and consider that a fully pencil commission is something I don't normally do, so forgive me if I screw up, hahah! 12-05-2010

BQ_AE_Pencil.jpg - I was doing this just for fun for the Robert Kirkman forum. Bomb Queen vs. Atom Eve. However, the composition and body position was all wrong. The Queen's arm blocked Eve's chest logo and the so-called over the shoulder just didn't work out well. I didn't show it to anyone... but... you get it here on the Pipeline! 12-06-2010

Robinson Buffy Vampi FULL.jpg - This San Diego 2010 convention sketch features my take on Buffy The Vampire Slayer vs. Vampirella. Try as I might I just couldn't quite get the actress likeness right. In fact, I cannot draw reality to save my life. So if you ever see me please don't ask me to draw a real celebrity, haha! Still, I gave this a shot and added the gag dialog. But the buyer didn't expect that I would also add some color. The truth is I just wasn't happy enough with it and I felt bad for the buyer so I was tossin' every trick in the book at it to make it look good. This is the end result. 12-12-2010

SDCC 2009_Vegas_sketch.jpeg - This was a 2009 San Diego Convention sketch where the buyer was from the city of Las Vegas, the original city of sin. They wanted the landmark "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign blown up. I confessed that I only had a vague idea of exactly how the sign looked.SO he came back with a huge keychain of the iconic sign for reference. I got the sketch done, he paid me and even gave me the keychain -- which I still have to this day. Forgive the photo quality of this sketch. Usually convention sketches are rarely seen because I don't get a chance to scan them. At best, I get a digital photographs. 12-13-2010

Bomb Queen pillow fight.jpg - [early stage pencils] this commission has a pillow fight theme with Bomb Queen, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and She-Hulk. She Hulk came in later (not requested) because the composition left a big hole on one side. I needed balance. 03-18-2011

Bomb Queen vs. the TSA.jpg - [early stage pencils] Another commission, this time with Bomb Queen giving some deserved payback to airport security. TSA reminded me of DNA, so I made this like a mock comic book cover with a spin on DNAgents. 03-18-2011

Vampiirella and Buffy.jpg - Commission with Vampirella and Buffy (early stage art). This is how I start off when working on identifiable characters that need a likeness. I'm really *bad* with celebrities. And in this case it came out a bit more cartoony than I like, however, we all have to start somewhere. 03-19-2011

BQ6_ORG_COV_color.jpg - Bomb Queen vol. 6, issue #2 - This was the ORIGINAL cover design for issue #2, but it lacked the punch I wanted. I did this back in 2009. The gag was Obama trying to hold back the Queen, yet also looking like he's about to cop a feel on her breast. The dialog was, "You can't even touch me!" It was an okay gag, but not that effective, plus, the style was way cartoony. My style is cartoony already but this was even more so. 12-04-2010

I used to review Import video games (back when it was hard to get them) and along with my time at the game website I also made a a few comic strips. This is one called, Video Pets and it was based on some of my fellow reviewers and a few inside jokes. 12-11-2010

TINY_1.jpg - SECRET: This is one my first comic books (trust me I made DOZENS). My main character at the time was called, TINY and the Wonder Dog. Why? I have no idea. I didn't even own a dog. But Tiny was clearly based on the Flintstone's model and all my stories came from things I saw on TV. In this case, Tiny meets his long lost sister, Jeanne (sp) 12-11-2010

But Tiny was clearly based on the Flintstone's model and all my stories came from things I saw on TV. In this book, Tiny and Wonder Dog (but mostly the dog) had to fight a giant robot. This stemmed from my days spent in front of the TV watching old black & white sci-fi movies on the weekends. Haha! 12-11-2010
